Today I wore a pant suit and felt like a total boss babe. I am loving the professional corporate world.
Our first stop was PRSA. We were able to hear from 5 professionals in the company. As a PRSSA executive board member I knew a decent amount about PRSA but today I learned how important joining truly is. I was amazed at all of the professional development opportunities they provide. I am looking forward to joining PRSA after I graduate.
We got to go to Thatcher + Co. and saw the greatest view of Times Square. We got to meet with the CEO, Brad Thatcher. He gave so much insight and advice. What stuck out to me most was his advice on being an expert in something specific. Almost every place we've been to have talked about continuous learning. This would be the best way to become an expert in something, constantly be learning more and more about the industry.
Then, our next appointment was at Factory PR, a fashion PR agency. We literally had to run almost 15 city blocks to get there on time. But, once we were there, it was so incredible. We learned so much about influencers, events, and social media. Those three topics are the reason I love PR so much.
I saw my first subway street performer! It was a Jazz band and I loved it. I love being surrounded by so many people. It's so exciting to be here because I feel like I'm apart of something to big and exciting!
I LOVE NEW YORK CITY SO MUCH!
